"Coming to Switzerland for my first one man show in Bursins at the Gallery Speerstra... is giving me great pleasure. Growing up in New York City in the 80's..I have had a complete and different upbringing from the image and impression I have of Switzerland. I guess for me it was about making nothing into something. Turning negative into positive. Making my environment into the freshness of the Swiss Alps... These new series of paintings reflect exactely the environment, the changing of the seasons, green pastures and beautiful mountains. This show will give me an opportunity to bring my vibrant colors to Speerstra’s new art space, and introducing new subjects in my work. "The Art of Living" is about taking time out to enjoy life for what it is... I hope that these paintings will reflect the quality of life that you can find in Switzerland. " Sincerely...... Jonone
