During Art Basel Week, the entire city of Miami lives to the rhythm of art. Exhibitions, events, performances, artistic interventions are in all institutions and on all corners of the streets. As part of this cultural event, Swiss artist Xavier Magaldi was invited by John Ferguson High School to run a workshop, a compulsory school, with more than 4000 students aged 15 to 18 years. The workshop was held for two days in the Art-Visual class of professor and artist Derek Wilson and principal Mr Villalobos. Various classes were able to attend the making of Xavier’s sculptures, conferences, question and interact with the artist about his career. Made in American cedar, the Guardian sculpture of 2m high will remain in the establishment which already contains a collection of art and various works of arts by artists. The sculpture will hang in the school and inaugurated in 2019. In a more urban context, the other two sculptures were finished during a "live painting" in Wynwood.
